She moves around more, she’s more volatile, while Beverly is more still and quiet and will fit into what Elliot does. Weisz: In general, we learned to start with Elliot in any scene when they were both there because Elliot sets the pace. All I remember is that we were wearing really big rings, and that hurt when we hit each other. Weisz: Did we have, like, a beep in our ear? Was it difficult shooting that, synchronizing the timing? There is a scene in an elevator when Elliot keeps swiping at Beverly’s phone and she just calmly brushes her off, over and over. Kitty Hawthorne and Brandon Bassir in “Dead Ringers” (Prime Video) I think I had about a week before we got started, so I was just learning the lines as quickly as I could. Hawthorne: It was all about the script, right, Rachel? Even just the way the characters punctuated, that changes the breath. It was many weeks of sitting in my office with the door closed, getting into the characters and psychologically bending myself to find them because they are distinctly different human beings whose whole lives revolve around one another, but they’re radically different. Weisz: I’d worked with Alice for quite a long time before I was in the writers room and before the writers went to script, so I had a sense of their differences. How did you wrap your head around inhabiting both sisters? Rachel, you not only play two very different twins, but you play twins who impersonate each other to throw other characters off. ‘The Last of Us’ Star Bella Ramsey Understood Their Character Right Away: ‘Ellie Came Very Naturally for Me’ She’s just full of life and energy and highly intelligent. She made bold, fabulous, interesting choices. She did Beverly and Elliot, and she just was a phenomenal actress. So she sent in an audition tape, and she did the scene in the diner which opens the show. Rachel Weisz: Kitty hadn’t graduated from Guildhall drama school yet. Rachel, you had to choose your scene partner carefully for “Dead Ringers” to work. Rachel Weisz in both “Dead Ringers” roles (Prime Video) We spoke to both actors about their experience. “I had a brilliant partnership with Kitty,” Weisz said. And for Weisz, Hawthorne (who also plays the twin babies’ struggling mother in flashbacks) was much more than a stand-in. They’d shoot, swap roles and shoot the scene all over again. ![]() To shoot scenes in which both twins appear, Weisz acted opposite Kitty Hawthorne, usually playing Elliot first while Hawthorne played Beverly. “It was the biggest acting challenge I’ve ever done,” Weisz said. ![]() You’ll find a QR code at the top of this page on desktop. ![]() The company, through its curated playlists such as RapCaviar, functions as the equivalent of a Tower Records in its heyday, combined with the biggest radio station conglomerates. Spotify’s power extends beyond the balance sheet. “Streaming income, while by no means the whole income picture, is the key income source now, and it’s driving the sky-high valuations that are allowing some artists to sell off and then sail off into the sunset with a yacht-load of cash,” said Bill Hochberg, a music industry lawyer in Los Angeles. Billboard estimated that Young and Mitchell are forsaking 10% of their annual earnings to bail on Spotify. Young said leaving Spotify would cost him 60% of his streaming earnings.Īlthough artists these days make most of their money touring, royalty checks from Spotify are not easy to part with. The Stockholm company counts 381 million users, including 172 million paying subscribers, in 184 countries, and in 2020 paid out $5 billion in music royalties, accounting for roughly 20% of recorded music revenues that year.Ĭutting off that profit pipeline would be a big deal for artists and their labels. 4 on its music business Power List for 2022. Spotify is hugely important to the music industry The issues speak to the trickiness of the debate over COVID-19 misinformation, free speech, music rights and the role of Spotify in the modern music industry. ![]() The reasons why more artists haven’t abandoned Spotify include a stew of political hesitancies, music ownership complications and business incentives. It’s unclear whether Spotify’s response will be enough to quell the turmoil and relieve pressure on other artists to act. The company agreed to publish its “platform rules” and add content advisories to episodes that discuss COVID-19, though it appeared to set a high bar for what it considers misinformation. The exit of Young and Mitchell was enough to get Spotify Chief Executive Daniel Ek to release a lengthy statement on Spotify’s “critical role to play in supporting creator expression while balancing it with the safety of our users.” He didn’t mention Rogan by name. Fellow Canadian rocker and polio survivor Joni Mitchell followed suit in solidarity (the friends share the same manager and record label). When Neil Young pulled his music from the Swedish streamer over its airing of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” he invited others to join him. For those following certain parts of Twitter during the last week, it would have been easy to come away with the impression that Spotify was facing a mass exodus of artists protesting COVID-19 vaccine misinformation on Joe Rogan’s immensely popular podcast. Native to Vikendi (see our PUBG Vikendi guide for further details), the G36C replaces the SCAR-L there, and possesses pretty much all the same stats, except for a nifty fire rate upgrade that puts it on the same level as our friend the M416. Assault Rifles - PUBG guns & weapon stats Treat the Sawed-Off like a miniature S686 that does less damage but actually boasts a surprisingly decent effective range. The reason for this is not that it's particularly effective in the end-game, but that it occupies a pistol slot, rather than a primary weapon slot. In my humble opinion, the Sawed-off is the only shotgun you should take to the end-game without feeling ashamed of yourself. These reasons put the S1897 at the bottom of my personal list of shotguns, with the understanding that the others aren't that much better. So which do you take? Well, the S1897 gives you 5 shots before reloading, which makes it a lot more forgiving than the blast-and-pray S686 but its downside is a hideous six-second reload time, a much lower fire rate, and the worst range of any gun in PUBG (adding Bullet Loops will bring this reload time down to just over 4 seconds, which is not much better, but might save you if your enemy lacks a killing instinct). The eagle-eyed among you might have noticed that the damage stats of the pump action S1897 are identical to those of the S686. But miss your shots with this shaky, inaccurate gun, or get caught at medium or long range, and your S686 might as well be a Snickers bar. Though it can only fire two shells before it needs to be reloaded, you can unleash both shots in a miniscule amount of time, and if you land your shots at close range, your enemy is paste. ![]() The double-barrelled S686 takes all the traits of the shotgun as a class of weapon, and exaggerates them. ![]() The (relatively) large magazine and high firing rate supplied by the S12K's semi-auto nature make it a more forgiving shotgun than most, and also more suited to taking out groups when compared to the other shotguns though its range is low even by shotgun standards. Here's a shotgun that spends all its time wishing it could be a different kind of gun. This isn't a shotgun you should think about attempting to reload during a close-quarters fight - but it's a great option for finishing that fight quickly and cleanly using the gun's extremely high DPS. Its high magazine size and decent rate of fire is balanced out by an extended reload time that leaves you particularly vulnerable. Pioneering the release of Update 4.3 and its focus on increasing the effectiveness of Shotguns was the DBS - a powerful Care Package-exclusive shotgun that deals mega-damage per pellet with a longer effective range than any other weapon in its class. Note: since a damage value of 100 or above is a guaranteed knock/kill, I've rounded any value over 100 down to just 100, so that everything's a bit easier to read and absorb.
